A tour to the Yamabushi temple, traditional warehouses & rice terraces | Hatsukaichi | Japan

There are rice terraces just 20 minutes drive from JR Hatsukaichi Station. This region is known for its sloping terrain which is terraced with rice fields. In this tour we’ll visit Kawasue village where rice terraces are mostly concentrated. From there, you can enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Seto Inland Sea and Miyajima.We’ll also visit a traditional warehouse in Kawasue villege. In the past warehouses were built to store rice crops.You can learn about warehouse and its architectural design and local traditions. All warehouses were built more than 100 years ago. You can also have a chat with farmers.Moreover, this tour includes a visit to the Yamabushi temple which is a unique place of practitioners. It is a chance to see the temple founded by ancient yamabushi-pilgrims who worshiped sacred mountains. The chief priest in yamabushi clothes will guide us. You can also see the place of spiritual training under the waterfall. Also you can try triton-trumpets used by yamabushi.
