It is one of the best preserved Jewish quarters in the world and evidence of the importance of the Jewish culture in Spain. Nor far away from Girona we can findthe county town of Besalú , that constitutes a unique Jewish heritage site in Spain. In 1966 Besalú was declared a national artistic site. With its twisting medieval streets, arches, steps, stone houses, the superb Romanesque bridge leading to the town center over the waters of the Fluvià river. . .
