The 2D/1N Machu Picchu Train tour is best combined with a tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas in the morning of the first day.Machu Picchu (7874 ft/2400 m) is at a lower altitude than Cusco (11,152 ft/3399 m), though we do still recommend a day in Cusco prior to departing on the tour in order to rest up from your travels, adjust to jet lag and the altitude.
