Pilas El Hoyo – Asososca Lagoon | Leon | Nicaragua

El Hoyo is a volcanic complex consisting of several structures located in the city of LeÃÂón. The first volcano called El Picachu; After being active the volcano collapsed, forming other volcanic structures.Currently, the most significant is the volcano El Hoyo. This is distinguishable because the crater is a perfect rounded circle and is located in one of its sides, instead of being located at the top. This volcano is not very much climbed so their paths retain a fairly rich and unspoiled nature.Other volcanic structures include the volcano Las Pilas and two other volcanic formations called Laguna de Asososca and Malpaisillo. After a violent eruption craters were formed with less depth, and eventually the water collected in them formed a lagoon. Asososca lagoon is completely covered with water and it is possible to enjoy crystal clear waters.
